Colleen Louise Stauffer, 71, of Janesville, WI, formerly of Polo, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, WI. She worked for the Dixon State School, Northwestern Steel & Wire in Sterling, and later was a waitress for Town and Country Restaurant, Dixon, prior to her retirement.
Colleen was born November 14, 1953, in Dixon, the daughter of Paul and Lucille (Stahl) Beard. Colleen married Timothy Stauffer on January 18, 1986, in Dixon. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2022. Known as the "Polo Pie Lady", Colleen had a passion for baking pies for friends, family and the farmer's markets. She loved her social life, bowling, playing cards with her friends, but most of all she loved being with her family.
Colleen is survived by one son, Jake A. (Tanya) Stauffer of Beloit, WI; one brother, Donald Beard of Dixon; her niece and nephew and their families; and her grandpups, Zoey, Nevaeh, Brutus, and Addie.
Colleen was also preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Jack Briggs, officiating. Private burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
