Coloa Jean Gilliam, 73, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away on September 5, 2025, at her home.
Coloa was born in Butler, Georgia, to Dora B. Gold and Clifford L. Gaston on January 29, 1952. She worked as a hairdresser and owned her own beauty shop, Paradise Family Hair Salon, in Hazel Green, Alabama. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Coloa is survived by her husband of 40 years, David Gilliam; her sister, Patricia Jane Gaston (Chester); daughters, Cynthia Gilliam Shannon and Felicia Lampe (Michael); grandchildren, Kristina Locker (Bradly), Brittany Crabtree, Rachel Carrick (Jeremy), Victoria Lampe, and Jacob Lampe; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Makayla, Loretta, and Kenna.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Clifford L. Gaston Jr.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone for their messages and kind words.
A funeral service will be held at Getz Funeral Home, located at 1410 E Bowman Ave, Las Cruces, New Mexico 88001, on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Derrick Williams officiating. Cremation will follow at a later time. Visitation will be held at Getz Funeral Home on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
