Concejo "Ching" Herrera, a beacon of love and faith, left this world on September 21, 2025, at the age of 92, in Alameda, CA. Born on November 24, 1932, in the Philippines, Ching was a nurturing mother, cherished friend, and an esteemed elementary school teacher whose gentle presence touched the lives of many.

Ching's journey began in the warmth of the Philippine islands, where she was born into a world that would be shaped by her loving spirit. Her passion for education and her dedication to children's growth led her to a fulfilling career that spanned over three decades. As an elementary school teacher, Ching didn't just teach her students to read and write; she instilled in them the values of kindness, patience, and persistence, leaving an indelible mark on countless young minds.

Family was the cornerstone of Ching's life. She was a devoted mother to Reynaldo, Renee, Roselle and Rosette, loving mother-in-law to Edna and Edelyn and doting grandmother to Reiven, Reiana, and R.J., who will continue to honor her legacy through their own lives. Each child brought her immense joy, and she was a constant source of encouragement and wisdom, guiding them through life's challenges with a steady hand and an open heart. Her love extended to her grandchildren, who will cherish memories of her storytelling and the warmth of her embrace.

Ching was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reynaldo Sr., with whom she shared a life full of laughter and companionship. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect, and together they built a family foundation strong enough to withstand the test of time.

Her involvement in the community did not end with her professional career. Ching's passion for life was evident in her love for dancing. She glided through life with the same grace and poise that she carried on the dance floor, and her spirit was as infectious as the music she moved to. Her love for dance was more than a hobby; it was a way for her to connect with others, to celebrate the beauty of life, and to express the joy she found in every day.

Concejo "Ching" Herrera will be remembered as a loving, gentle, and faith-filled soul. Her unwavering positivity and the love she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and a life well-lived. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished and recounted for generations to come.

As we say our final goodbyes, we reflect on a life that was rich in love and abundant in achievements. She was a guiding light for her family, a pillar of strength for her friends, and an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. Her journey on earth may have come to a peaceful end, but her spirit will continue to soar in the lives she touched. Rest in peace, dear Ching, your story lives on within us.
