Lincoln – Concetta "Connie" (Procaccini) Donfrancesco, 88, of Lincoln and Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully in Florida on Friday, September 22, 2023 after a short illness. Connie was the beloved wife of 67 years to Anthony Donfrancesco.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Assunta (Jacavone) Procaccini, step-daughter of the late Mary (Calitri) Procaccini, and the cherished sister of the late Frank A. Procaccini.
Connie was the loving mother to her five children: Susan Pilkington and her husband John of Cranston; Karen Ciotti and her husband William of Lincoln; Leslie Donfrancesco-St. Jean and her husband Greg of Fort Myers, FL; Michael Donfrancesco and his wife Lori of Westborough, MA; and Mark Donfrancesco and his wife Andrea of Lincoln. Connie's pride and joy were her beloved seven grandchildren, John, James, Hannah, Julia, Marcus, Lucas and Daniela; and her beloved great granddaughter, Lydia Adeline. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Connie was an inspired and passionate cook who embraced her Italian heritage. Since her early days in North Providence, her meals welcomed both family and friends to the table of love and laughter. Her creativity in the kitchen will be long remembered, especially during the holidays.
Connie was an avid artist and frequent traveler. Her skill in watercolor painting, along with her general love of all-things art, brought her to many places throughout New England, Florida and Europe. She looked forward to her trips to Italy to view art and architecture as well as enjoying time with her extended family and friends. Her favorite pastime while in Italy were leisurely shopping the narrow streets and people watching in the piazzas.
She was a member of the Rhode Island and Fort Myers Watercolor Societies. She enjoyed her painting groups here at home and in Fort Myers. Connie's highest accolade was "Best in Show" at the Newport Museum's "Art on the Lawn".
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10 A.M. in St. Jude's Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Her burial will be private in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org) or the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, 385 Fruit Hill Avenue, North Providence, RI 02911.
