Connie Anderson Obituary

Connie Louise Anderson, age 65, of Potosi, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025. Connie was born on May 15, 1960, in East St. Louis, Illinois, a beloved daughter of the late James “Jim” Kite and Phyllis (Alexander) Kite.

On November 18, 1977, Connie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gary Anderson. Together they shared a life full of adventure and laughter. Connie had a free spirit and a heart full of love. She could often be found cruising around in her Jeep Wrangler, windows down, blasting her favorite music—especially anything by Kid Rock. She shared a passion for motorcycles with Gary, and together they made countless memories on the open road. Connie had a special love for antiquing and bargain hunting, always on the lookout for a great deal at Goodwill or a hidden treasure at a local shop. Nature brought her peace, especially time spent at the park or by the creek where she could enjoy the calming sound of water.

Above all, Connie’s greatest joy came from her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nothing made her happier than watching them play or simply being surrounded by their laughter. Connie was known for her straightforward honesty—you never had to guess what she was thinking—and her deeply loving and caring nature.

She is survived by her devoted children: Angel Anderson (Ryan Hernandez), Shannon Anderson, Misty Anderson (Jerry McAllister), Gary J. Anderson, and Amanda Anderson; cherished grandchildren: Destiny, Josh, Desire, JJ, Zac, Brittney, Courtney, Anastasia, Heaven, Cheyenne, Dylan, Jordan, Cameron, Steven, Gary, Kloey, and Nevaeh; and treasured great-grandchildren: Jayce, Ellie, Noah, Hunter, Ariel, Hazel, Houston, Bryce, Harper, Waylyn, Hayden, Adylyn, Dominic, Cashton, Ava, Bella, Isabel, Illa, Kinley, Paitynn, Lian, Ryan, Sebastian, Levi, and Grace.

Connie is also survived by her loving siblings: Pam Kite, Allen Kite, Trina Kite, Eddie Kite, Loretta Kite, and Joyce Spiker, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Phyllis Kite; her husband, Gary Anderson; her brother, Dennis Kite; and nephews, Steven Roberts and James Allen “Sonkite” Kite III.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Friday, August 15, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at DeClue Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Alan Berry. Connie will be laid to rest at New Diggins Cemetery in Mineral Point, Missouri.

Connie’s life was full of love, laughter, and strength. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
