Connie Sue (Simpson) Asher of London, KY went home to the Lord on June 22, 2024. She was met at the gates of Heaven by her parents, Pearl and Scenora (Caldwell) Simpson, and sisters, Wanda Jones, Lovenia Brock, and Doshia Sexton.
Connie, the youngest of seven, was born on January 9, 1955 in Harlan, KY. She spent her childhood in Beech Fork and moved to Wallins Creek as a teenager. This is where she met the love of her life, Silas Asher. Silas and Connie were united in marriage on May 9, 1972. Family was everything to Connie. She dedicated her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. Connie was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren.
Connie had an exceptional memory and a gift for sharing the history of her family. She would spend hours on the phone with her brothers and sisters reminiscing and laughing. Family was everything to her.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Silas; daughter, Melissa (Chris) Wood; son Bradley (Amy) Asher; grandchildren, Jacob Wood, Clara Asher, Amelia Asher, Isabella Wood, and Callie Asher; sister, Pauline (Dale) Brock, Necy (Janie) Simpson, Raleigh (Kris) Simpson, sister-in-law Josie Cole, and brothers-in-law George and Ronnie Asher; and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Connie will be remembered for her amazing cooking, wicked sense of humor, and the love and loyalty she showed to her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Connie leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
