Connie J Asselin, aged 74, of Topeka, KS, passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2026. For 32 years Connie taught elementary education in the USD 501 school district before retiring. After her retirement she enjoyed a fulfilling life characterized by a range of interests and meaningful experiences. Her passions included country dancing with friends and family, playing golf, gardening, trout fishing, helping her grandchildren to and from their sporting events all while cheering them on, and taking morning walks along Florida beaches during family vacations. While in Florida she also frequented the local farmers markets and enjoyed all the fresh items they had to offer. She was a dedicated supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs and took great pleasure in following Kansas Jayhawks basketball.
Connie is remembered by her daughter Melanie, son-in-law Jeremy, and her grandchildren Valerie, Andrew, and Sheldon. Her partner Steve Smith. She is also survived by her mother, Millie Blodgett, siblings Gary Blodgett, Sandy Jaynes and Marsha (Ray) Peak. Connie was preceded in death by her father, Bill Blodgett.
