A longtime resident of Coteau, Connie Courville Bourque was born in St. Martinville, Louisiana on October 8, 1962, to the late Donald and Mazel Theriot Courville. A devoted and passionate librarian, Connie’s love for reading shaped not only her career but also the lives she touched within her community.
Connie held a unique honor as a wedding officiant, having married many couples by the serene pond she adored.
At the center of Connie's world was her beloved grandson, John Robert, to whom she poured a fierce love that illuminated her life. She cherished every moment spent with him.
A talented photographer, Connie captured life's fleeting moments with her camera. She generously volunteered her time to take graduation pictures for seniors, rarely asking for payment. It was her way of celebrating their achievements, of immortalizing milestones that brought families joy.
Mrs. Bourque is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, John Bourque of Coteau; sons, Grant Bourque of Coteau and Joshua Bourque (Aimee) of New Iberia; grandson, John Robert Bourque; siblings, Dale Courville (Denise), Yvonne Courville, Jerry Courville (Linda), Jacqueline Bonin (Lonnie), and Ronnie Courville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dovic Courville.
Connie was kind and selfless; she was a beacon of love and generosity in all her endeavors. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
