Connie 'Cokie' Jean Chamberlain
1947 ~ 2024
Connie Jean Chamberlain returned home peacefully and surrounded in love July 28, 2024.
Affectionately renamed Cokie by her first grandchild, she left behind two children, Rachele Dalton and Jaremy Flygare, and joined her other two children, Michael and David, on the other side.
She was the first of eight children, born to Zenneth and Alta Chamberlain. Her adored siblings, Bonnie Armitstead, Kaye Kowallis, Kent Chamberlain, Dan Chamberlain, Chris Chamberlain, Shanon Balser, and Rhett Chamberlain all love her deeply. They stood with her in every hardship and rejoiced in every happiness. She often spoke of her great blessings in having each of them and their posterity as her family.
She was the first born and so she has gone ahead to meet her Savior. She loved Him profoundly and followed His example of love in an extraordinary way. She loved deeply and without guile. She demanded honesty and fairness. And even at 4'10 (and a half), she was a force to be reckoned with!
Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren: Steevi Muhlestein, Beau Flygare, Jessi Flygare, Alli Flygare, and Brooklyn Flygare. They were her heart. She was their joy and song.
She was a pillar of strength to so many in her life. She truly loved and cared for the downtrodden and rejected. She was often a refuge from the storm and her "family" grew every day. She loved each of the partners and spouses of her grandchildren and children and loved their families as well.
In the final years of her life, she was struck down by a rare nerve condition, which immobilized her. She faced every day with grace and strength and, usually, cheerfulness. She was a beacon of light in an ever-darkening world. Her legacy of love is eternal. She leaves us bereft, but anxiously awaiting our joyous reunion beyond the veil with our mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, sister, and friend.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16.
