Connie Sue Coe, age 74, of Albia, IA, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Oakwood Specialty Care in Albia.
Connie was born on October 16, 1950, in Oskaloosa, IA, to James Wayne and Lois Marie (Taylor) Coe. She grew up and attended Knoxville High School. On February 14, 1970, she was united in marriage to Merle Joe Ford and to this union, 2 sons, Jim and Mike, were born. Connie and Merle later divorced. Connie met and married Roy See. They later divorced but remained lifelong companions until his death in July 1996.
Connie worked at Chamberlains in Albia until it closed. She then went to work for and retired from Norris Asphalt Paving Company. Following her retirement, Connie later worked as an aide for Head Start. Connie was a collector of many different things, including anything elephants, snowmen, Beanie Babies, Betty Boop memorabilia, and occupied Japan China. She had a deep love for all her animals over the years, especially her dog, Gizmo.
Connie is survived by her mother, Lois Ford; 2 sons, Jim (Angie) Ford and Mike Ford (Sarah); a daughter-in-law, Shawna Fechtling; 6 grandchildren, Ashlie (Blake) Schroeder, Baylie Ford, Carlie Ford, Chloe Ford, Andrew Ford, and Brett Ford; 1 great grandchild, Nora Schroeder and one on the way in July; and siblings, Jim (Karen) Coe, Chris (Ron) Findley, Joan (Bryan) Nunnikhoven, and Helen Kay (Steve) Wares. Connie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
Connie is preceded in death by her father, James Coe; a sister, Jessica Coe Duckett; and her lifelong companion, Roy See.
Per Connie's wishes, her body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
An open memorial has been established to the family.
