Russell Duane Mericle

Russell Duane Mericle, age 73, of Centerville, Iowa, died on August 10th, 2025, at MercyOne Centerville Medical Center. Russell was born on October 7th, 1951, in Abaline, Texas to Carl & Luella (Truex) Mericle. Russell was employed by multiple factory companies in the 1970's. In the 1980's he decided to attend college to learn how to repair electronic devices and machines. After graduating, he owned and operated Mericle's Electronics in Albia, Iowa repairing equipment. Russell was very talented and enjoyed drawing. His joy in life was spending time with his family, friends; especially his nieces and nephews. Russell is survived by one sister, Carla (Harley) Rominger of Attica, two brothers, Curtis (Dena) Mericle of Tucumcari, New Mexico, and Dan Mericle of Centerville; eleven nieces and nephews; Dawn, Joshua, and Tyson (DeAnna) Rominger, Christian (Krista) Mericle, Luke, Levi, Hannah, and Rebekah Mericle, Jennifer (Robert) Jamison, Denise (Rob) Matherly, and Andrew (Arianna) Mericle. Russell is also survived by several other family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Carl & Luella Mericle; a brother; Mark Mericle; a sister-in-law; Louise Mericle. Per Russell's wishes, his body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
