Timothy Laverne Cooper "Droop", age 66, of Albia, IA, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at his home. Tim was born on October 8, 1958, to Elster and Mary Margaret (Montgomery) Cooper. He grew up attending school and graduated from the Albia High School with the Class of 1977. Following high school, Tim was an apprentice and journeyman electrician, working for DeVries for many years. He later worked at Menards in Des Moines and Grimes. Tim found joy in the simple things in life. He loved being outdoors. Some of his favorite hobbies included golfing with his brothers, riding motorcycles, and playing pool and snooker. He was known for his sharp mind, quick wit, and touch of orneriness, like in his younger years, when he would slide the trampoline close to the house in order to sneak in and out through the window. Tim had a great sense of humor and loved to visit with others. A man of faith, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was also proud to celebrate the milestone of his recent ten-year pin with Alcoholics Anonymous. Tim is survived by his siblings, Gary (Lorraine) Cooper of Albia, Larry (Genny) Cooper of Ottumwa, Nikki (Paul) Ammons of Albia, and twin sister, Kim Bacon of Albia; and devoted friends, Tim Gardner and Charlie Spaur. Tim is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other good friends. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Hiteman Cemetery. Cards of condolences/memorials can be sent to Tim's family c/o Tharp Funeral Home, 116 Benton Ave. West, Albia, IA 52531.
