Connie Marie Currie (Lewis), a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dedicated nurse, passed away on August 21, 2024, in Thomasville, GA, at the age of 60. Born on June 27, 1964, in Panama City, FL, Connie was a formidable presence, living her life with the motto "Faith over fear."
Connie embarked on her nursing career in 2000 after receiving her LPN license and initially worked at Archbold. Her passion for knowledge and dedication to her profession led her to further education and became a registered nurse. Throughout her career, Connie not only provided care at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Southwestern State Hospital, and as a travel nurse but also shared her knowledge and experience by teaching at the local college, nurturing the next generation of LPN's.
Even after retiring in 2022 due to medical issues, her love for nursing and compassionate care never ceased. Connie was also an avid cross-stitcher, a hobby that reflected her meticulous and patient nature.
She is survived by her daughters Amanda Currie-Tucker (Gary) and Jennifer Dixon (Jamie); grandchildren Kaitlyn and Austin Alsandor, Jason Tucker, Cierra Meeks, Brian Cauley III and Rylie Dixon; great-grandson Kaleb Williamson; mother-in-law Jennie Redmond; and father to her children Johnny Currie. Connie is preceded in death by her grandmother Jo Lewis, father James Lewis, mother Jayne Sprotte, and father-in-law Bill Redmond.
A memorial service will be held at Coolidge Baptist Church on Saturday, September 7th at 1 pm. There will be food served following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Archbold Oncology Center, honoring Connie's lifelong dedication to healthcare and her battle with medical challenges. Connie's legacy of courage, care, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her.
