Connie Diane Erickson, 68, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Monday August 18, 2025, in Keystone Bluffs assisted living. She was born in Virginia, MN on October 11, 1956, to Erwin and Harriet Erickson. Connie attended the School for the Deaf in Faribault, MN and graduated from Biwabik High School class of 1975, and from UMD Class of 1999. She had worked as a teaching assistant in American Sign Language at UMD, Mesabi Community College, and the Roosevelt High School in Virginia, MN. Connie had also worked with Communication Service for the Deaf of MN, and at Regional Hospital Health and Wellness Program in St. Paul. Her last job was working as a medical records clerk for Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital. Connie had was also a volunteer in the deaf and hard of hearing community.
Though Connie was born deaf and legally blind, however she never let her disabilities stop her from leading a wonderful life. Connie brought smiles wherever she went.
Connie is preceded in death by her father Erwin Erickson, brother Steven (Chopper) Erickson, and a nephew Peter Seppanen.
Connie is survived by her mother Harriet Erickson-Edblom (Warren Ebdlom) sister Debbie (Bert) Pearce, brother Dale (Debbie) Erickson, sister Bonnie Erickson-Helander (Rick Helander), and numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 26, 2025, from 10AM until 11AM Funeral Service in Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555. Burial will be in Oneota Cemetery
