HUNTINGTON- Connie Rae Thayn Erickson, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Huntington, Utah, on December 29, 2025.

Connie was born on August 10, 1938, in Wellington, Utah, to William Azell Thayn and Inez Rich Thayn. Connie grew up on the Old Wellington Loop, where she and her siblings learned the value of hard work at a young age. Left to manage farm chores and work on a beet farm, Connie developed the strength, resilience, and work ethic that stayed with her throughout her life.

In March of 1955, Connie met the love of her life, Blair Erickson. Just three short months later, they were married on June 8, 1955. Connie and Blair shared 51 years of marriage before Blair passed away in 2006, and together they built a large and loving family.

Connie truly did it all. She was a talented seamstress who loved sewing and quilting, spent countless hours canning, cooking, and caring for her home, and even worked as the family barber and butcher. Above all else, Connie was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. Connie's home was a gathering place for anyone that knew her. Her greatest achievement and deepest joy in life was being a mother, a role she embraced with love, strength, and selflessness.

She is survived by her children, Jodi (Gary) Norton of Wellington, Utah, Christine (Joe) Anselmo of Elmo, Utah, Raylene (Tim) Schmidt of Wellington, Utah, Terry Erickson of Elmo, Utah, and Sharon Oveson of Wellington, Utah; her sister, Eva (Max) Tucker of Elmo, Utah; sisters-in-law, Renee Thayn of Wellington, Utah and Deloras Wingfield of Missouri; and son-in-law, Scott Eden of Orangeville, Utah. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and many other beloved family members.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Blair Erickson; her daughter, LeAnn Eden; her parents, William Azell Thayn and Inez Rich Thayn; her parents-in-law, Einar Erickson and Ina Shaw Erickson; sisters-in-law, Larue Lofley and Janet Mortensen; and her siblings, Azella Bradley, Dell Thayn, Lynn Rich Thayn, George Jefferson Thayn, Dea Thayn, Leah Ruth Workman Nelson, Dawna Oviatt, Harold Thayn, Jess Thayn, and Ora Keel.

Connie will be remembered for her unwavering work ethic, her creativity, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she helped raise and the many lives she touched.

Funeral Service, Friday, January 2, 2026, 12:00 (noon), Huntington Stake Center (240 North Main Street) in Huntington. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment, Huntington City Cemetery.
