Connie Sue Russo, age 73, of Broseley, MO, died Friday, April 11, 2025 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mrs. Russo was born January 19, 1952 in Poplar Bluff, MO, daughter of the late Earl and Nora Pauline Johnson (neé Whittington).
Connie's career in nursing allowed her the opportunity to care for people of various ages and walks of life. She was a home health nurse, pediatric nurse, and a nurse at the VA Medical Center for 17 years from which she retired. She selflessly cared for others both professionally and in her personal life.
She attended church at Living Word Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and talking to her friends. She was the best Mother, Wife, Aunt and Nana.
On December 1, 1973, she married James Russo. He survives. Also surviving are three children: Gina (Steven) Smith of Broseley, MO, James V. (Cheri) Russo of Arnold, MO, and Jesse (Tracy) Chatat; and one grandson: Tristan Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Connie was also preceded in death by two brothers: Garry Earl Johnson and Larry Dale Johnson.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gene Riddle officiating. Burial will be at Qulin Cemetery. Condolences: www.whitesandersfuneralhome.com
