John Sheldon, 85, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 and his wife, Connie O. (Cole) Sheldon, 85, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. John was born in Lake City, PA on March 24, 1940, a son of the late, George and Mary Agnes (Brett) Sheldon. Connie was born in Erie, PA on February 21, 1940, a daughter of the late, Leonard and Brena (Baily) Cole.

John graduated from Girard High School and then started his career at GE. Connie graduated from McDowell High School. They then moved to Chicago, where John worked for Xerox as a Technical Representative for 30 years until his retirement. John was a man of integrity, an honest hardworking guy who always provided for his family. He was a loyal and loving husband to his wife, Connie, the two of them never left each other's side even until the very end. John had an engineer mind, he was a handyman and could build anything, he even enjoyed helping his sons with toy building kits and Legos. Connie was an extremely devoted mother; she took care of transporting her sons and their friends all across town for extracurricular activities and sports. Connie loved her grandchildren and especially looking at pictures of her great-grandchildren. After retirement, John and Connie moved to Florida and enjoyed golfing together. John liked watching football and playing chess, while Connie liked crossword puzzles and cooking. John was the king of dad jokes and would often be found at the social clubs telling his jokes and making people laugh, while Connie enjoyed playing the slot machines.

In addition to their parents, John and Connie are preceded in death by a granddaughter, Desiree Cody; and his brothers, James, Thomas, William, and George Sheldon; and his sisters, Mary Felton and Kay Zika.

John and Connie are survived by their sons, John M. Sheldon (Patty), Guy Sheldon (Kathleen) and Thomas Sheldon (Anna Jean); grandchildren, Megan Quiggle (Joel), Zachary Sheldon (Kathleen), Abby Sheldon, and Seth Sheldon; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Theodora Sheldon, and one more baby girl on the way; John's brother, Joseph Sheldon (Diane)' and John's sister, Theresa Suwanski, a niece, Shirley Godfrey, and great-niece, Callithen.
