Connie Sue Taylor, 71, of Loops Road, Rainelle, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, June 19, 2024, following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born January 14, 1953, in Marion, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Darlie and Betty Jo (McClung) Bennett.
Connie was a homemaker. She loved her family and was a mom to many, even those who were not her own. She was known as the "Kool-Aid-Cookie Mom." Connie was a good woman and very loved by those who knew her. She enjoyed her garden and her flowers. Connie was a Christian and attended Highland Church of God, Rainelle.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son B.W. Taylor.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Carl "Duke" Taylor; children Roger Ward (Myra) of Hinton, Terry Smith (Jason Pittman) of Lewisburg, Sherry Ward of Rainelle, Crystal Kessler (Earl) of Rupert, and David Taylor (Debbie) of Layland; siblings Ronald Bennett of Layland, Cathy Petti, Douglas Bennett (Linda), and Karen Depriest, all of Indiana; five grandchildren, Carrie Bennett (Amanda), Bradley Ward, Randy Queen, Jr. (Crystal), Kodie Redden (Sienna), and Teyanna Taylor; five great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Johnny Bob Hamrick officiating.
Burial will follow in the Harrah Cemetery, Backus Mountain, Layland.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 12 – 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
