Connie Ezzell Vinson, 73, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Wayne County on July 7, 1952, Connie was the daughter of the late Daniel Joseph Ezzell and Alice Faulk Ezzell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Vinson, Jr.; brothers, George Ezzell and Danny Ezzell and nephews, Chris Ezzell and Jeffrey Branch.

Connie's life was one of dedication-to her work, her friends, and especially her family. She was employed with R.G. Barry and Bussman before serving as a certified central sterile technician at UNC Health Wayne.

A true people person with a joyful spirit, Connie loved to dance. She was an active and beloved member of the Sugarfoot Shag Club, where she once served as president and was fondly known as the "Dancing Mama."

Family was always at the center of her heart. Connie faithfully cared for her mother for many years and found her greatest joy in her roles as a devoted wife, mama, grandmother, and sister. Her compassion, strength, and boundless love will remain a treasured legacy for all who knew her.

A service to celebrate Connie's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Annalisa Dawn West; grandchildren, Ashley Denise Henry and Amber Noel Bryant and husband, James; brother, Shelton Ray Ezzell and wife, Phyllis; nieces, Cortnie Madrigal and Dahran Ezzell; nephew, D.W.Ezzell; special friends, Claire and Stu Wetley, Janette Dallas, Betty Jo Smith and Diana Stoker Beason; along with numerous other extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to share in her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601, or to Meals on Wheels, 601 Royall Avenue, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
