Goldsboro- LT Robin Earle Marsh (USN-retired), 78, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at his home. Born in Champaign, Illinois on December 23, 1946, he was son to the late Cecil Lester Marsh and Ruth Leese Marsh. In addition to his parents, Robin was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marie Gloria Marsh.

A proud and distinguished veteran, LT Robin E. Marsh (USN-retired) began his career in the U.S. Navy in 1966 at the Recruit Training Command in San Diego, CA. He concluded his military service in 1993 serving 28 years, with his final assignment as Staff, Commander Naval Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet in Norfolk, VA. Rising to the rank of LT, Robin exemplified leadership, integrity, and selfless service throughout his career. His dedication was honored with numerous awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Medal, Presidential Unit Citation (3 awards), Navy Unit Commendation (5 awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation (5 awards), Navy "E" Ribbon (4 awards), Good Conduct Medal (4 awards), Navy Expeditionary Medal (2 awards), National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal (2 awards), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon (2 awards), Republic of Vietnam Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (5 awards), and Expert Rifleman Medal. He was authorized to wear the Enlisted Submarine Warfare Insignia and the Officer Surface Warfare Supply Corps Insignia. Those accolades stand as a testament to his bravery, sacrifice, and his enduring commitment and love to his country. Following his retirement from the Navy, Robin continued his work in the private sector for the U.S. government until he retired in 2022.

In remembering LT Robin Earle Marsh (USN-retired), we honor a truly one-of-a-kind, unique and remarkable man who was definitely a force to be reckon with. He was loyal to his family and loved ones and deeply committed to his country. He was a devoted husband to his "Asian Princess Bride" of 51 years, Gloria, who passed away in 2021, a devoted father, a very proud grandfather, and a HERO in every sense of the word. Robin's legacy of courage, bravery, kindness and unwavering dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit and his impact will never be forgotten.

Robin is survived by his daughter, Micheal Leese Marsh-Cmarik and her husband, Steve; his grandson, Dominic Robin Cmarik and fiancée, Darian S. Beasley; his granddaughter, Isabelle Rosmary Cmarik; his sister-in-law, Lydia Larson (Ian); his nephew, Paul Larson and his niece, Janice Larson; his sister-in-law, Rosa McCabe (Donnie); his nephew, Donnie McCabe Jr (Lakeisha); his great-niece, Elanor; his nephew, Ryan McCabe (Stephanie)

A memorial gathering with military honors will be held in Robin's honor on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. Following the memorial gathering a casual reception will be held at Robin's residence, 111 Remount Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534
