Brenda Carol Sasser Moore, 78, was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Brenda was born in Wayne County on December 12, 1946, to the late Harvey Theodore Sasser and Doris Worley Sasser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Henry Moore, and sister, Joan Tuttle.

Brenda's life was a beautiful reflection of her faith. She loved the Lord deeply and faithfully served Him as a devoted member of Patetown Church of God, where she used her gifts to encourage others and share God's love. Her strong faith carried her through life and guided the way she cared for her family, friends, and all who knew her.

For more than 40 years, Brenda worked as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro. With a compassionate heart and steady hands, she poured herself into caring for others, always seeing her work as a calling and ministry of love.

Away from work, Brenda found great joy in God's creation. She especially loved horses and cherished the time spent riding and caring for the horses she kept at her family's home. Her deep affection for animals extended to all creatures, especially her beloved dogs, who were always close by.

Brenda was happiest when her home was filled with the laughter and presence of family gathered around her table. She was the heart of her family, always faithful, always ready to serve, and always giving her best. To her children and grandchildren, she will forever be remembered as the best mother and grandmother.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Patetown Church of God followed by a service to celebrate Brenda's life at 4:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Marvin Wiggins officiating. Private interment will be in the Patetown Cemetery.

Brenda is survived by her children, Wendy Taylor and husband, David; Michael Joyner and wife, Brandy; and Marsha Eakes and husband, Roger; her brother, Jack S. Sasser and wife, Mary Oliver Sasser; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Don's family: son, Kenneth "Kenney" Wade Moore and wife, Brandy; daughters, Donna Jean Sasser and husband, Jeff; and Tina Janell Bradshaw and husband, Chris; along with seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

At the end of her faithful journey, the words of Scripture ring true for Brenda: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

Brenda's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff on the 7th floor at UNC Health Wayne for the care and compassion shown to her, and to the nurses with Gentiva Hospice for their kindness in allowing Brenda to be cared for in her home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Brenda's memory to Patetown Church of God, 215 Church of God Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
