Connie Chapman Wiggins

Mrs. Connie Ann Chapman Wiggins passed away surrounded by loved ones in her Shreveport home, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the age of 61.
Connie is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Scott Wiggins; daughter, Natalie Huffty and husband, Mark; sons, Patrick Wiggins and wife, Shelby, and Nicholas Wiggins and wife, Baylee; and grandchildren, Andrew, Christian and Henry Huffty. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Ray and Shirley Longino Chapman of West Monroe, Louisiana.
Connie was born on March 5, 1962 in Delhi, LA. She was Jimmy and Shirley's only child and was the apple of their eye. "Peanut" as they called her, grew up in West Monroe, LA. before graduating from West Monroe High School in 1980. Connie found Jesus and salvation as a teenager and faithfully kept God in her heart all the days of her life. She later married her high school sweetheart, Scott Wiggins, in 1982.
They then spent the next decade of their lives moving between Shreveport, LA, Birmingham, AL, and Nashville, TN, as Scott completed his medical training. The couple made Shreveport their permanent home in 1993.
Connie's greatest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren. She was an avid school volunteer, a room mother many times over, a passionate (and loud) fixture at sporting events, and an organizer of all holidays and celebrations. A mother to the very end, she was the foundation of her family. Her legacy will forever be the love and nurturing she joyfully gave to her children and later her grandkids. She was always the protector and angel watching over her family and ever devoted to her husband. Her heart was big enough to fill a home with love. When she was not hard at work making home a wonderful place, she enjoyed following the British Monarchy and planning trips to Disney World.
A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Avenue, Shreveport, LA. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Frost Chapel at First Baptist Church, 543 Ockley Drive, Shreveport, LA. Officiating the service will be Dr. Mike Walton. A graveside service will follow the funeral, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 451 LA-151 N, Calhoun, LA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Connie's beautiful life.
Honoring Connie as pallbearers will be Patrick Wiggins, Nicholas Wiggins, Mark Huffty, David Richardson, Clint Raley, and Richard Lamb.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all of the wonderful partners at Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
