Constance Yvonne (Weeks) Bird, 67, of Oakland, passed away on February 5, 2026, at Dennett Rehab Center. Born on January 20, 1959, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Donald Weeks Sr. and Dorthy (Metheny) Weeks.
Constance attended Patapsco High School before transferring and graduating from Southern Garrett High School in 1977. She worked as a secretary for Mt. Top Seal Coating. Over the years, she was active in several churches, including North Point Baptist Church in Baltimore, Faith Evangelical Free Church, and Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she participated in the ladies' groups. In her spare time, Constance enjoyed crafting, sewing, quilting, singing, fellowship with others, and baking her famous annual chocolate pies. Above all, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved traveling together with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Bird Sr., to whom she was married on August 6, 1977; three sons, Rodney Bird Jr. and wife Jennifer of Oakland, Matthew Bird and wife Leigh of Oakland, and Lionel Bird and wife Ashley of Meyersdale, PA; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Bird, Ryan Bird, Eli Bird, Ean Bird, Jace Bird, and Zachary Bird; and siblings, Donald Weeks Jr. and wife Tami of Westminister, MD, Lionel Weeks and wife Vicky of Frankford, DE, Fred Weeks and wife Vickie of Swanton, and Sandy Martin and husband Tom of Austin, TX.
Friends will be received on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 12 to 2 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Weeks officiating. Private interment will take place in Deer Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pleasant View Baptist Church, 8931 Garrett Highway, Oakland, MD 21550.
