Mrs. Constance “Connie” Carlson Brady, age 80, of Bogart, GA, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital surrounded by her family.
The youngest of five, Connie was born in Arcadia, FL on December 20, 1944, daughter of the late Karl Edward Carlson, Sr. and Eletha Purvis Carlson. She was a graduate of DeSoto County High School in Arcadia and furthered her education at Tallahassee Community College where she studied art.
Connie was an active member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and studying with her community group. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens as long as her health permitted. Connie was an excellent artist who enjoyed painting, but above all she was a devoted “Gran” to her family.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Johnny ‘Wayne’ Brady; daughter, Sabrina Baker Sipsy (Don) of Watkinsville, GA; step-daughters: Dana Brady Till of Marietta, GA, Joni Brady Quinn (Ted) of Spartanburg, SC, and Dr. Judi Brady Mills (Casey) of Danielsville; grandchildren: Kyle Page, Kailey (Tyler) Winn, Kole Page, Lucas (Skyler) Till, Nicholas Till, Erin Quinn, Adam Quinn, Andrew (Jessica) Mills, Matthew Mills, and Lindsey Mills; great-grandchild, Baker Winn; siblings: Karl Carlson and Bobbie Browning; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 10 years, Claude H. Baker, Jr.; and siblings: Johnny Carlson and Matilda Browning.
Connie’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, February 23, at 4:00p.m. in the Worship Center at Prince Avenue Baptist Church, 3691 Monroe Highway, Bogart, GA. The family will greet friends from 3:00-3:45p.m. prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery, 400 N. Oliver Street, Elberton, GA.
Flowers are accepted, and if desired, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
