Constance “Connie” Jean Erickson, 82, Of Duluth, passed away peacefully with family by her side, Monday, October 6, 2025. Connie was born May 21, 1943, in Duluth to Stanley and Mary Ellison.
She was a 1961 graduate of Duluth Denfeld High School. Prior to marriage she enjoyed her work as a hairdresser.
Her favorite role was being a mother and homemaker. Connie was happiest when spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was helping care for her grandchildren Braeden and Chase and great-niece Madison Gulbranson and great-nephew Gaven Gulbranson during their childhoods. She also enjoyed her time working as a teacher’s aide while her children were in elementary school. Reading was a favorite pastime of Connie’s. Home cooked meals for family and friends were a weekly treat. Her Christmas Cookies were some of the best and will be thoroughly missed.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Paul; parents, Stanley and Mary; niece, Melissa Ellison; brother, Stanley Jr.; brothers-in-law, Martin Erickson & David Erickson, Thomas Mackay; sister-in-law, Paula Erickson.
Connie is survived by her children, Matthew (Taryn) Erickson and Jennifer (Brady) Kerr; grandchildren, Braeden and Chase Erickson; sisters-in-Law, Carol Mahla, Elizabeth Mackay, Marjorie Ellison, and Sandra Erickson; special niece, Mindy Gulbranson and Nephew Peter (Donna) Ellison; several other cousins, nieces, nephews, great nephews, and nieces.
The family would like to thank the caring nursing staff of Essentia Hospital and Viewcrest Nursing Home for their extremely compassionate care.
Funeral service is scheduled for Thursday October 9, 2025, at Dougherty Funeral Home-Duluth. Visitation begins at 2pm, followed by a service at 3pm.
