Constance D'Angelo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cantelmi Long Funeral Home - Bethlehem on Dec. 12, 2025.
Constance G. "Connie" D'Angelo, 87, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully in her home on December 11, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Mario O. D'Angelo, with whom she shared over 69 years of devoted marriage. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Marie (Zipf) Kuritz.
She was a proud graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1956. Her work ethic was evident through her 19-year tenure as a sales clerk for Card O Rama and her time at ShopRite, where she was known for her warm smile and helpful nature. She also found joy in her involvement with various organizations, including Beta Sigma Phi, the Red Hat Society, and the Allentown Garden Club, where her passion for nature was evident in every Arbor Day poem she read. A dedicated parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church in Bethlehem and the former Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Connie's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her spirit of volunteerism was evident through her committed service to the Mercy Learning Center, the Kid's Peace Fashion Show, St. Luke's Hospital, and the Lehigh University Athletic Department for 15 years.
Connie's interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She had a talent for writing poetry that captured the essence of her thoughts and the beauty of the world around her. A love for travel saw her exploring new destinations, with particular fondness for trips to the shore and memorable experiences on cruises. Above all, Connie cherished spending time with her family, creating moments that would become the stories told for generations.
Survivors: In addition to her loving husband Mario, she will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Josephine D. Scholl, and her husband Dennis of Hellertown, and by her son, Mario F. D'Angelo, and his wife Susan of Bethlehem. Connie's role as a grandmother was one she held dear to her heart, providing endless love and guidance to her grandchildren Mario J. D'Angelo and his wife Hayley, Maria D'Angelo Burns and her husband Robert, and Dr. Michael Scholl and his fiancée Rachel. She was also affectionately known as Nana Connie to her great-grandchildren Gianna, Mario John, Jr., Luca Mario, and Dominic, who brought her immeasurable joy. Connie was pre-deceased by her grandson, Thomas Scholl.
Services: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday December 16, 2025 at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St. Bethlehem, PA 18018, where there will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Her burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Connie's name to the Children's Home of Easton, 2000 S. 25th Street, Easton, PA 18042 and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
