Constance “Connie” C. Fleming, age 81, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, St. Marys Campus, surrounded by her family. Connie Christine Mau was born on July 11, 1943, in Mankato, Minnesota, to Clifford and Avis Mau. Connie graduated from Good Counsel Academy in Mankato. On June 15, 1963, Connie was united in marriage to Dale Fleming at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. The couple was blessed with four children. She worked for 20 years as a nursing assistant at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin and worked with their adult day programs. Connie did housekeeping and cooked for the priests of St. Augustine and St. Edward Catholic Churches in Austin. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Auxiliary for many years. In her free time, she loved exploring new places, camping with the Hitchhiker’s Camping Club, and gardening and canning with Dale. Most of all, Connie loved her family and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s games, concerts, and performances. We will remember her as a wonderful and loving wife, mom, and grandma who took care of everything and will especially miss her pies, deviled eggs, and taco dip.
Connie is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Sandy (Dave) Wells, Karen Olson, Susan (John) Weber, and Jim (Chelsey) Fleming; grandchildren, Alicia, Brad, Jessica, Kahla, Lisa, Nicole, Walker, Grace, Cara, Casey, Brody, and Alec; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Avis; son-in-law, Mike Olson; and parents-in-law, Albert and Bessie Fleming.
A memorial gathering for Connie will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie. A private family service and burial will be held. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
