Constance (Connie) Giansanti passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024 at Brentwood Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Connie was born in East Providence, Rhode Island to Antone & Maria (Figueira) Oliveira and happily resided in Warwick for fifty-eight years. She was the youngest of seven children and the only child to be born in the United States. Her siblings were all born in Sao Miguel Island in the Azores and traveled here in 1919. She had five sisters and one brother: Mary RePosa, Pauline Laiter, Doris Pinheiro, Teresa Almeida, Virginia Oliver and Antone Oliveira.
Connie was a devoted wife to the late Kenneth Giansanti; a cherished mother of five children: Dennis Giansanti (Mary Anne) of Warwick, Gary Giansanti (Evelyn) of Warwick, Wayne Giansanti (Marcia) of Warwick, Sharon Grenier (Stephen) of North Kingstown, and Paul Giansanti (Dale) of Coventry; and the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The majority of Connie's life was spent as a housewife and a devoted mother. Her children were all very involved with sports, and she never missed any of their games; one could always find her in the stands, cheering them on. Her children truly were her whole life, and she once said she would have had ten children if she could have.
Connie's family and friends will remember her as an amazing cook who loved welcoming people into her home with a meal she prepared with love. During the holidays, her talent in the kitchen was put on full display, as her family, friends and neighbors would gather with her to celebrate.
Connie liked rooting for her Red Sox, playing nickel slots at Foxwoods and enjoying her pastry and candy. She was a very active woman, always on the go, and while at Brentwood Nursing Home, she enjoyed all of the activities they had to offer, especially Bingo and the art classes that gave her an opportunity to showcase her beautiful drawings.
Connie's family is especially grateful to the caregivers at Brentwood Nursing Home for their extraordinary care, love and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following:
