Julie (Little) Giansanti, 55, of Rocky Hill, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 2, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Gino F. Giansanti.
Born in New Britain to the late John T. Little and Rita (Cebrelli) Little, Julie resided in Newington for many years before moving to Rocky Hill. She graduated from Newington High School and from CCSU with a bachelor's degree in social work, and was formerly employed by Glastonbury Public Schools and Rocky Hill Public Schools. She volunteered as a CCD teacher and as an assistant Girl Scout leader for her daughter's troop and was a member of St. James Church, Rocky Hill. Julie loved spending time at her family beach house, built by her grandfather at Hawk's Nest Beach, where she enjoyed collecting sea glass and shells.
A loving wife and mother, along with Gino, her devoted husband of 30 years, she leaves her son Gino Giansanti, Jr. and her daughter Elaina Giansanti, all of Rocky Hill. She also leaves her sisters Jean Roberts and husband Scott of Wethersfield, and Diane Little of Newington; her mother-in-law Lorraine Giansanti; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law James Giansanti, Jr. and wife Suzanne, Eric Giansanti and wife Barbara, and Christina Bengtson and husband Ryan, all of Newington; her aunt Adele Little of Glastonbury, and her family; and nieces and nephews Scott, Jessica, Danielle, Derek, Nicholas, Alex, Aiden and Ashlynn. Julie leaves many dear friends, including her childhood friends Carla Petry, Kate McDonald, Tracy Valorie and Ann Burke.
Her funeral service will begin on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish at St. James Church, 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill. She will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newington Memorial. Dear Gino & Family,
I am shocked to hear about Julie's passing. Please accept my deepest and heartfelt condolences. Julie and I go way back to Elm Hill School. We remained friends throughout school, did plays together, music trips, and even went to a few dances together, including our junior prom. I have such wonderful and happy memories of Julie. She was such a kind, friendly person with a wonderful smile. I will always remember her.
Love to you all,
Keith Suranna
