Mrs. Constance Avis McCarthy, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the age of 89. One of nine children, she was born in Lynne, Massachusetts to parents the late Charles and Elsie Hudson, and was the wife of the late William "Bill" McCarthy.
Connie was a volunteer at Baptist East Hospital for over thirty years. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including knitting, crafting, and playing bridge and other card games. She will be remembered for her love of playing the organ, and for the special love for square dancing with whom she and Bill shared. Connie's memory is one that her family will cherish. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and special friend. Connie loved her family more than anything, and especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Her legacy is one filled with love, and her family will cherish her precious memory.
In addition to her parents Charles and Elsie, she is preceded in death by her Husband Bill McCarthy, and her daughter Caryl Wiegel.
Survivors include her four children, Cindy Arnold (Ken), Bill McCarthy, Bobbi Walker (Noel), and Michael McCarthy (Angie); Son-in-law, John Wiegel (Diane); ten grandchildren, Tyler, Erin, Cary, Caty, Jack, Molly, Ross, Lexie, Maddie, and Grace, and one great grandchild, Charlie.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Private burial at Cave Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, January 1, 2024, at Pearson's.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hosparus Health of Louisville.
Arrangements under the direction of Pearson's, "Where Louisville Goes to Remember."
