Constance "Connie" McCarty, nee Constance Helen Paakh, born February 28,1932, in Philadelphia, PA to Albert Curt Paakh and Helen Loughran Paakh, died November 20, 2023, in Milwaukee, WI. She is survived by her husband, Daniel John McCarty, MD, and her children; Constance Elizabeth McCarty, Claire Louise McCarty, Margaret McCarty Stanisic, Daniel John McCarty, and Brian Albert McCarty, MD, her grandchildren; Ryan Joseph Kilian, MD (Kali Kramolis, MD), John Daniel Kilian ("Jack") (Alicia Kay Kilian, MD), William ("Liam") Hale McCarty, Aidan Daniel McCarty, Megan Constance Noelle McCarty, Nicholas Stephen Stanisic, Alexander Vladimir Stanisic, Maeve Qiu'e McCarty and Sean Robert McCarty, and a great- grandson, Huxley Ernest Kilian.
Connie was known for her smile, her laugh, good judgment, and keen sense of humor. She was an accomplished professional ballet and tap dancer. She trained as an elementary school teacher at Penn State and Temple Universities and taught until the birth of her first child in Aschaffenburg, Germany. She served in many roles in her children's schools, with a focus on the arts and ensuring they were well represented in the curriculum. She held leadership roles in several parent-teacher organizations, including Chair of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Parent-Teacher Council. She loved to travel, visiting many countries throughout the world. She also loved to read and to attend theater and dance performances. She was a valued friend and beloved member of her large extended family. Her husband summarized her life with an alliteration, "Life, Love, Luck and Laughter, four keys to a happy life."
