Cookie Kovacic Obituary
Cookie was one of a kind and lived life entirely on his own terms - bold, spirited, and always with a twinkle in his eye. He never met a stranger he couldn't make laugh, and he had a way of turning even ordinary days into adventures. Whether it was sharing stories, stirring up laughter, lending a hand, or just making sure everyone around him was having a good time, Cookie lived a life full of heart, humor, and freedom. He had a heart as big as his grin and a mischievous streak that could fill a room.
He was the loving brother of Andrea Medvec, Michael (Elaine) Kovacic, Anthony (Caroline) Kovacic, and Timothy (Ellie) Kovacic; and the really cool uncle of Steve (Jessica), Andrea, A.J., Samantha, Natalie, Daryann, Kolt, Isabelle, Steven, and Sydne. He was also the proud great-uncle of Hunter and a longtime friend of Pam Duncan.
Cookie was preceded in death by his parents, William "Cookie" and Rosie Kovacic.
A proud member of Local 18 Operating Engineers, he worked hard and played harder - embodying the true meaning of "work to live."
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center Street, Mentor, where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM. Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery, 16337 Thompson Road, Thompson, Ohio. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
Cookie's legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, and a life fully embraced - the kind of man who reminded everyone that joy is something you make, every single day.
