Cora Gillespie

Cora Gillespie, lovingly known as Cora Lee Tiller, was born on March 28, 1936, in Thomasville, NC, and lived a dedicated and loyal life until December 29, 2025. Cora was a distinctive blend of thoughtfulness, wit, and charm, and her radiance was unmistakable to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She lived much of her life in Philadelphia before finding her haven in Buena, New Jersey, where she cultivated not just the flowers in her cherished garden, but also a community of friends and family who will miss her dearly.

Cora, a graduate of Winston Salem State College, was a school teacher by profession, serving in the Philadelphia Board of Education with unwavering dedication. She came from a family of teachers, a legacy she proudly carried forward. Her caring nature went beyond the walls of her classroom and into her home, where she created a nurturing environment for her family. Cora's love for her family was paramount, with her grandchildren holding a special place in her heart. Her life was a testament to the quote, "The love of a family is life's greatest blessing." She is survived by her sons, Randall, Stanley Gillespie.

She was predeceased by her parents, Astel Tiller and Cora Hedgegist, her son Bertram, and her sisters, Etta and Betty.
