DURHAM – Cora Anne Holloway Bailey, 94, gained her angel wings for Heaven on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at the Hillcrest Convalescent Center. She was born in Orange County to the late Ollie and Fannie Rhew Holloway. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bailey is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Freeman Bailey; brothers, Hugh Cain Holloway, Rupert Holloway, Jack Holloway; sister, Wilma Bailey; brother-in-law, Jim Bailey; nephew, Mitchel Holloway. She is also preceded in death by her special cousins, Mary Lou Mitchell and Doris Link.
As a lifelong member of the Pleasant Green Community, she enjoyed gardening, crafts, and playing cards. After graduating with a tier business degree, she worked at Duke University in various career paths.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by her special loving niece, Wanda Stephenson and husband Dennis; sister-in-law, Betty Bailey. She is also survived by nieces, Linda Ward, Beth Bailey; nephew, Bill Bailey; and niece-in-law, Valinda Holloway. Along with great nieces and nephews whom loved her immensely.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 25th at St. Phillip's Episcopal Church: 403 E Main St., Durham, NC 27701.
Flowers will be accepted at Clements Funeral Home or at St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Any memorials may be made to St. Philip's and/or Pleasant Green United Methodist Church.
