Cora Elizabeth Lykins

Cora Elizabeth Lykins, 63, passed away on March 2, 2026. She was born in Story, AR, on January 11, 1963, to Ted and Bonnie Lykins.

On November 27, 1994, Cora married the love of her life, Johnny Derrick. Together they shared 31 wonderful years of love, laughter, and devotion until her passing.

Cora was a kind and caring soul with a big heart and a spunky personality. She always looked out for others and loved her family with all her heart.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Cora faithfully served in the janitorial department at Watts Schools for over 25 years. She also gave back to her community through her service on the Watts City Board for several years.

In her free time, Cora enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, especially Days of Our Lives, and she was a devoted Elvis fan. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, but nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandbabies.

Cora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and dear friend. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Derrick; sisters, Delois Wilder and family, Sherry Lykins, and favorite niece Jessica Harris, Rosalyn Lykins and family, and Carmen Smith; children, Phillip Lykins and wife Carrie, Deanna Adams, William Derrick and wife Toni, Donnie Joe Derrick and wife Mandy, Destenie Derrick and husband Josh, Adarain Adams, and Abby Olenick and husband Austin Williamson; grandchildren, Malia Lykins, Mataya Lykins, Grace Lykins, Melissa Derrick, Sean Hitner, PJ Jackson, Ashley Derrick, Susie Derrick, Colby Derrick, Mario Harman, Katelynn Harman, Jacob Sullivan JR, and Lane Sullivan; and great-grandchildren, Memphis Adams, Wilder Adams, Wrenley Elizabeth Adams, Asher Williamson, Atticus Williamson, Aspen Williamson, and Ashton Williamson.

A visitation will be held at Wasson Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The celebration of life will be held at the Watts Community Center on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
