Wanda Lou Chesney

Wanda Lou Chesney, 84, passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2026. She was born in Claremore, OK, on September 21, 1941.

Wanda was a kind, sweet, and outgoing woman who never met a stranger. A devoted homemaker, she was an exceptional cook and a gifted decorator whose home was always welcoming, filled with love and fresh flowers. She found great joy in gardening and painting on fine china, expressing her creativity in ways that brought beauty to everyday life.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Wanda worked for seven years at Walmart and spent 33 years helping operate Chesney Carpet Company.

One of Wanda's greatest passions was her love for horses. She was an accomplished Tennessee Walking Horse trainer who earned numerous trophies and awards while competing in horse shows. Her dedication and talent in the arena reflected her determination and spirited nature.

Above all, Wanda cherished her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Lee Eagen and Mandy Mae (Crisp) Eagen; half-brother, Lee Eagen; and half-sister, Juanita.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Ben Chesney of Siloam Springs, AR; son, Carlin Dee Chesney of Indio, CA; daughter, Jawahna Kay Van Pielt of Siloam Springs, AR; and grandson, Gavin Ben Van Pielt and wife Brionna of Siloam Springs, AR.

A visitation will be held at Wasson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Russell Shewmaker, will be held at Wasson Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
