Dwayne Roger Chesney

Dwayne Roger Chesney - age 84, of Knoxville, TN, passed away January 30, 2026 at Sacred Ground Hospice House from complications of diabetes and melanoma. He was a graduate of Carter High School Class of 1959 and was retired from both KPMG Peat Marwick and Modine Manufacturing. He loved his family and enjoyed classic cars, but mostly his 1964 Ford Galaxie he had been restoring with his son for the past few years. He enjoyed traveling in his motorhome with his wife before she passed away in 2013 and working in his beautiful flowers and landscaping at his home when his health allowed. He was also a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN.

He was a graduate of Carter High School Class of 1959. He was employed by KPMG and Modine Manufacturing. He was a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Lonas Chesney and Louise Underwood Chesney; wife, Lois Loveday Chesney; and grandson, Levi Hackler.

He is survived by his children, Roger (Kristi) Chesney and Jennifer (Bill) Russell; grandchildren, Sheena (Johnathan) Fletcher, Danielle (Rodney) Sellers, Victoria Hayes, and Lilly (Dawson) Bumbalough; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Bridges Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM, with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating. Immediately following the service, family and friends will go in procession to Oak Grove Cemetery for a 3:00 PM Graveside Service.
