Coreen passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 79. The daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Draves) Kolb was born February 5, 1945 in Bay City, Michigan. Coreen was a lifelong member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and was retired from Dow after 28 years of service. After retiring from Dow she worked at the Dow Credit Union and then at Hallmark when she started collecting ornaments. She enjoyed golfing, watching cardinals, reading books, traveling and going to the casino, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Coreen is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Stephen) Eddy; son, Kurt (Susan) Gillespie; grandchildren, Danielle Eddy, Megan (Tate) England, Joseph Eddy, Tori (Randy) Mieras, Amber Gillespie, Benjamin Eddy and Brooke (Chris) Wengert; great grandchildren, Carson Eddy, Summer England, Colt England, Oakland Mieras and Tucker Mieras; sister, Merrilyn (Dewey) CedarBlade; brother, Dale Kolb; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Kolb and Patty Kolb and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Gillespie; sister-in-law, Barbara Kolb and brothers-in-law, Gerald Kolb and Richard Kolb.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Paul E. Schaewe. Private interment will follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Gephart Funeral Home from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
