Corey Deon Lowery was born March 15, 1978, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Paulette Lowery and James Cecil Wilson. On Monday, April 14, 2025, he passed away peacefully at his home in Olive Branch, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family, while under hospice care. Age 47 years.

Corey, formerly employed by Burlington Trailways in Burlington, Iowa, where he furthered his education and obtained his CDL license, faced a new challenge with his stage 4 Colon and Liver Cancer diagnosis in October 2023. Undeterred, Corey continued to live life with purpose and passion.

Corey accepted Christ at a young age, showing selflessness and generosity to those around him. He developed a passion for automotive repair and classic cars and co-owned a trucking business with his sister, Rhonda. Corey's presence left a lasting impact on those who knew him, and he took great pride in his relationships with family and friends.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his loving children who were his pride and joy, son, Corey Lowery, Jr. and daughter, Coreyona Lowery; mother, Paulette Lowery; father, James Cecil Wilson; sisters, Rhonda (Glenn) Dobson and Joanne (Kenny) Choyce; brothers, Desmond Lowery, Jason (Alicia) Blossey, Derrick Montgomery and Jacob Reed; a host of nieces and nephews including a special bond with his niece/nephew Sharnice (Ger’Quia) Abner and his great nieces Gisselle and Gia Abner; aunts, Linda (Billy) Thomas, Sharon Hopkins, Mary Wilson, Jean (Billy) Williams, Sarah Wilson, Paulene (Trigger) Branyon; uncles, Clyde (Luella) Hopkins, Benjamin (Sherlene) Hopkins, Darren Hopkins, Larry (Norma) Wilson and Pastor Lafayette Simpson; a special bond with his cousins, Sheldon Hopkins, Xavier (Jalynn) Hopkins, Ronald Hopkins and Shavell Shivers, a bond known as “The Good Fellas”; a host of other cousins who was near and dear, Charlotte Green, Amanda Hopkins, Anthony Hopkins and Cheri Garriott (Wrinky); A special bond with the mother of his son, Danielle Jones; his bonus aunts and uncles, Mary (John) Lewis, Clint (Kim) Givan Yul Givan, Wanda D. Givan and Dexter B. Givan; a bonus daughter; Taraji Allen; a bonus son Dominique Jones; a host of family and friends that was dear to his heart that are too numerous to name.

He was proceeded in death by his Grandparents, Mildred and George Lowery, Henry Wilson and Charlene Johnson Wilson; Aunts, Gloria Hopkins and First Lady Janice Simpson; Uncles, Carroll Henry Wilson and Walter Wilson; cousins, Nyles Hopkins and Xavion Hopkins; Bonus Dad, O’Neal Pete’ Givan.

With heartfelt gratitude, the family extends sincere appreciation to, Desoto Cancer Center in Southaven, Mississippi; all family members who provided supportive care; Pastor Lafayette Simpson and the Bethlehem Baptist Church Family, Chris Gillespie and Gillespie Funeral Home of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Pastor Benjamin Smith and Ivan E. Phillips, and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
