Cori Renee McClain, 32, of Columbus, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 10, 2025. She was born in Columbus on June 16, 1993 to Jack E. and Debra (Muncy) McClain.
Along with her parents, those left to cherish memories of Cori include her dear partner, Brandt; children, Xavier, Kinsley, BJ, and bonus daughter Kiley; brother, Eric (Lynn) McClain, sisters, Jerrica, and Jodie (Joe) Kromer; nieces and nephews, Jordan, Alanna, Carmelo, Cameron, DJ, Cooper, James and Jorie; and so many other close family members and friends.
Cori was preceded in death by Norma and Dewey Muncy, Dorothy Mae Talley, and Jack McClain Sr.
Cori graduated high school in 2012 from Westerville South High School. She loved and valued her family more than anything. Cori cherished every minute she spent with her kids and partner Brandt. The special bond she shared with her entire family and friends was evidenced by large birthday celebrations, holiday gatherings, vacations, concerts and weekend sports, where many of the kids played together. Cori was proud to coach her daughter Kinsley’s soccer team for many years, which included her nephews Cooper and James. The passion she had for coaching stemmed from the close bond she made with kids when she started out coaching her son Xavier’s and nephew DJ’s soccer team. She grew up cheerleading, playing soccer, basketball, and track, and it brought her great joy to see her children following in her footsteps. Nothing brought Cori more happiness than being a mother; her children were truly her pride and joy and she loved cheering them on in everything they did. Cori had a lifelong love affair with Mexican food, music, and the color pink. She valued loyalty, respect, love and experienced a life well lived and gifted us with so many memories to treasure. We love and miss you every single day, Cori. Your laughter, love, kindness and strength live on forever through us all. Our love is eternal and you will remain forever in our hearts, until we meet again.
A service to honor Cori’s life will be held privately for the family. The Newcomer family is honored to serve the McClain family. To leave a condolence or to share a memory please visit www.newcomercolumbus.com.
