Corita Lewis Taylor, age 96, entered eternal rest on Thursday September 25, 2025. Daughter of the late Terrence Lewis Sr. and Viola H. Lewis. Wife of the late Jessie J.Taylor. She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Mother of Mary J. Rounds, Ulysses Joseph and Shirley J. Dorsey. Sister of Ernest S. Lewis of Springfield, ILL. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Third Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, Greater St. Peter Baptist Church, Fifth African Baptist Church both of Edgard, La., Second Mount Olive Baptist Church of Donaldsonville, La., Mt.Triumph Baptist Church of St. James La., and Employees of Innophos Inc. of Geismar, LA are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service for Corita Lewis Taylor on Saturday October 11, 2025 for 10:00 a.m. at Third Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, 2132 Third St. New Orleans, La. 70113.
