Corliss Greene Austin, 80 of Monroe, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home on Sunday, October 12, 2025. She was born in Union County on November 9, 1944, daughter to the late William Corbett Greene and Evelyn Hargett Greene. She is also preceded in death by her infant son, as well as her sister, Ann Greene Keziah.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 3:00PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110 with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM until 2:45PM in the church sanctuary.
Corliss is survived by her devoted husband of over 61 years, Douglas B. Austin, two sons, John Austin (Dayna) and Carl Austin (Tammy), sister, Susan Greene Baucom, four grandchildren, Carter Austin (Rachel), Hailey Austin Robinson (Alex), Natalie Austin Sharpe (Waits), Alison Austin, as well as three great grandchildren, Harper Austin, Grayson Austin, and Charlotte Austin.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1428 Ellen Street, Building A, Monroe, NC 28112.
