Born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on March 8, 1949, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Willamette M. (Patton) Austin. Michael was 76 years old.
Michael was educated in Greenfield and was a longtime machinist for the Greenfield Tap & Dye. He was known by many as "MacGyver."
Survivors include his wife, June (Weston) Austin, daughter, June Lora Austin; 2 granddaughters, Nina and Crystal, as well as, 1 niece and her family, a nephew and his family, 2 sisters-in-law and their families and a brother-in-law and his family.
Michael's family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon followed by a 12 Noon funeral at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. Prayers of committal will follow at the St. Albans Bay Cemetery.
