Corma Cita Luper Collins

Corma Cita Collins, age 66, passed away peacefully in her husband's arms on June 19, 2022. She was born November 21, 1955, in Sherman, Texas, to the union of Olin and Thelma Mae Luper. She married the love of her life, Lafayette Collins, in August 1989. In 1992, one daughter was born, Carmen Faith Collins.
Corma was a caring, beautiful, sweet compassionate woman and loved to love on people. She carried herself with poise, and you never saw her without make up. Her quiet spirit and kind demeanor was known best buy those who knew her best.
Corma at an early age attended church with her family at Sixteen Street Baptist Church in Honey Grove, Texas. She later joined Grove Baptist Church while she obtained her bachelor's degree from the G. Brint Ryan College of business administration at North Texas State University. She was affiliated Alpha Kappa Psi organization. She later moved to Austin, Texas, where she became a member of David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. James E. Obey, Sr. She was active in the women's ministry. For many years, Corma worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb as a Territorial Marketing Manager, she then went to work for the State Comptroller of Texas and finally found her passion in Real Estate. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Proverbs 31 – She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Corma was an inspiration in her family church community and friends throughout her life she was dedicated to God and her family. Corma will be definitely be loved and missed.
Corma Cita Collins was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband (LaFayette Collins), daughter Carmen (Len) Reese, step-children (Lynzi, Lafayette Alonzo and Rodney), sisters Norma Eunita Miller and Ellen Warren; sister in love Felecicima ( L.J.) Betts a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Corma will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752. A a celebration of life will occur Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2211 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd,, Austin, Texas 78702. A graveside service will occur Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Texas State Cemetery, 909 Navasota St., Austin, Texas 78702.
Serving as pallbearers are Demetrius Collins, Russell Collins, Kaleb Hardy, Tyler Midkiff, Jason Miller, Trey Miller, Duncan Moore and Christopher Scurry. Honorary pallbearers are Lafayette Alonzo Collins, Lynzi Collins, Rodney Patrick Collins, Sheri Hardy, Jackie Marcee, Priscella Merritte, Stacy Midkiff, Toni Nelson, Len Reese, David Scurry and Glen Shankle.
