Cornelius Clarke

Cornelius Cordner Clarke Jr., "Neal", passed away on December 14, 2024, in Williamsburg, Virginia. Neal was a beloved son, brother, father, Pop Pop, cousin and cherished friend. Born in Orange, New Jersey, he was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Cornelius Clarke Sr. and his sister Sharon Criscione.
Neal's life was one of service, intellect, humor, and had a profound impact on the lives of those around him. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he was awarded the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals for his dedication and exemplary conduct. Following his military service, Neal pursued his passion for higher learning, got married, started his family and had a distinguished career as an Executive Director of numerous assisted living facilities. Whether it was through his career, civic life, or entrepreneurial pursuits he always strived to positively influence every community he called home.
Neal leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his three children, Michelle Clarke, Jason Clarke (Jennie), and Valerie Bowling (Eric); his cherished grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Kayla, and Alyssa Colucci, Jackson and Jonathan Clarke; and his beloved siblings, Dennis Clarke and Maureen Nest (Fred). Neal's legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
A celebration of Neal's life will be held at a later date in Williamsburg, VA, where he resided, and in New Jersey, where his roots began. All are invited to share pictures or fond memories as he would wish for his loved ones to laugh, reminisce, and smile together during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Heritage Humane Society (heritagehumane.org), The Cancer Research Institute (give.cancerresearch.org), or a cause meaningful to you in Neal's honor. Neal leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and love that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
