Cornelius Darneil Heidelberg

CORNELIUS DARNEIL HEIDELBERG was born to the late Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Helen (Heidelberg) Bounds. He was a loving and caring person, loved his family, but most of all, he loved to cook. He could cook literally everything. Salmon patties and biscuits were some of his specialties. He loved watching cooking shows, jewelry, and collecting hats. His favorite team was the Philadelphia Eagles.

He departed this life while at home on the evening of December 26, 2025.

He is survived by three sisters: Lisa and Shonda Meeks (twins), and Katrina Bounds; one brother: Jeremy Bounds; a cousin who was more like a brother: Derrick Dewese Heidelberg; his grandmother: Mary Heidelberg; three aunts: Catherine Heidelberg, Patricia Heidelberg, and Teresa Blackston, and one uncle: Charles Bounds.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Center Ridge Baptist Church in the DeSoto community (Shubuta), with Elder Richard Mays as the eulogist. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. His viewing period will be held Thursday, January 1, 2026 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
