Gregory Eugene Coleman. affectionately known as "Mac" to his family and friends. was born on January 24. 1978, in
Laurel, Mississippi, toEdward Wallace and and the late Laney Jean Horne.
Mac attended Outman High School and later earned his GED.
Though his educational journey took a different path, he remained determined and proud of his accomplishment.
Mac lived a simple, steady, and meaningful life. He found great joy in the everyday moments, especially spending time with his friends, affectionately known as "the domino crew," where laughter. fellowship. and heartfelt conversations about life were shared. When his health allowed. Mac faithfully served as a taxi driver and errand runner for his daughters. Nothing brought him greater pride than watching them grow, flourish in school. and pursue their dreams.
They were truly his "world of girls." and he cherished them deeply.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother. Laney Jean Horne. and his very special niece. Annie Keyaria Cooks.
Gregory leaves to cherish his memory his devoted companion: Nakesha "Keke" Pace: his daughters. Akaysha J. Pace and G'Kayla E. Coleman, all of Quitman. MS; and his father, Edward Wallace of
Quitman, MS.
He also leaves behind his loving sisters: Dr. Minnie (Brian) Dace of Shubuta, MS: Vakerri (Christopher) Cooks Blakely of Brandon, MS: Tampila Coleman of Gulfport, MS; Commalisa Horne of
Quitman, MS; and Shaletta Cooks; his brothers: Kory Horne and Runderious Horne of
Quitman, MS; and Rashad Wallace of Meridian, MS.
His memory will be treasured by his nieces: Takerti J. Cooks, Sha'Mya Horne, Laquerria Williams, Phoenix Wallace, Khymeria Davis. Shymetria Watts, and Carmen Watts: and his nephews: Christopher Blakely, Quartez Cooks. Brijuan Dace, Javarious Pace, Larecus Coleman. Alvant Flunter Jr., and Paxton Wallace.
Mac was also blessed with an amazIng host of aunts and uncles who embraced him as a son, and a very special cousin and *big brother, Eric Wallace. He leaves behind special friends Stanley Pace. Cordero "Tub* Laphand, his cherished domino crew, a host of cousins.devoted nursing staff who became Ike family, and many other dear friends.
Though his life was quiet and routine. he lose he gave was profound. and the space he filled in the hearts of those who knew him can never be replaced.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Living Church of God Pentecostal in
Quitman, MS. Bishop Roy Anderson served as the eulogist, with interment following at Little Zion Cemetery in Stonewall, MS.
The viewing period occurred Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Living Church of God z Pentecostal in
Quitman, MS.
