Lula Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Turner Funeral Home - Waynesboro on Mar. 6, 2026.
MRS. LULA BELL ANDERSON was born to the union of the late Mr. Eugene and Mrs. Ida (Stokes) McQueen in Quitman, MS. She joined Bethel United Methodist Church at an early age, and she loved attending church every chance she had.

Mrs. Anderson also enjoyed growing flowers around her house. On March 3, 2026 while a patient at Ochsner Rush Medical Center in Meridian, MS, the LORD gently whispered and called her home.

The many happy memories she garnered while here in her earthly existence will be cherished by her two grandsons: Dequan and Deshawn Gandy; one sister: Christine (Alvin James, deceased) McQueen-Dickinson, Grove Hill, AL, and one brother: Willie Vernon McQueen, Decatur, MS.

Mrs. Anderson was a gregarious person who had no problem making friends, and at least four will be noted: Tammy Watts, Minnie Evans, Helen Conner, and Mary Ann Stokes.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Lee Anderson; son: Robert Jerome Anderson, and three brothers: Eugene, Jimmy, and Willie James McQueen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Bethel United Methodist Church in the DeSoto community (Shubuta) with Pastor Carrie Sterling and Minister Ceola Davis officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

Her viewing period will take place Saturday, March 13, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church.
