Cornelius E. Mahon "Connie" of Beaver Meadows, PA passed away peacefully at the Greenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on March 7th, 2026 at the age of 87.
He was the husband of Jean (Stascinsky) Mahon with whom he had a marriage of 66 years. Born on January 29th, 1939 in Hazleton, PA Connie was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Coyle) Mahon. He was also proceded in death by sisters Leona Witchie, Elizabeth Grazio, Aileen Romano and a brother Joseph Mahon.
Connie built a life in dry wall finishing and construction prior to his retirement. He was a huge Norte Dame fan both of football and basketball. In his younger years he enjoyed riding and caring for the horses that he owned. He also had a love for old cars. He also spent a lot of years devoting time to coaching CYO basketball teams for the youth in his community.
Above all Connie's greatest joy was found in the time spent with his grandsons Tyler Hovanec and his fiancé Jaime and Jesse Hovanec. There love and laughter were the highlight of his life.
He is survived by his wife Jean, his children: Lee Ann Mahon, Brian Mahon and Brett Mahon. In addition he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Each carrying many stories, memories, love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial that will be held at 11am on Saturday March 28th -Holy Rosary Catholic Church, located at 240 S Poplar St, Hazleton, PA 18201. A visitation will take place in the church one hour prior to the mass. Following this, burial will be held privately at the family's convenience.
