Cornell Silas Meredith, known to many as "Pops" and fondly remembered for his charismatic personality and spirited nature, was born on September 22, 1980, in New Orleans, LA, USA. He lived a life full of humor, showcasing his witty charm and ability to make others laugh. Cornell was a man who, in the words of Frank Sinatra, did it "My Way." His faith in God was immense, reflecting the verse from the Bible, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13). He was a beloved son, brother, and father, whose greatest joy was his family. Cornell resided in Houston Texas and was employed by Jay Talk Nine Unlimited, LLC where he was more then just an employee he became family.

Cornell was a sports enthusiast, his passion for various games was infectious. This enthusiasm was a testament to his vibrant personality, which made him a beacon of light in the lives of those he encountered. His previous residences include New Orleans and Houston, each place holding fond memories of his exuberant presence. The journey of his life, though unconventional, was uniquely his, marked by his resilience, humor, and unwavering faith.

He is survived by his mother, Rosalind White; his father, Hank Meredith; his beloved sons, Cornell Jr. and Asher Lewis; his brother, Henry S. Meredith; and his sister, Erika Murray; Aunts Gwen, Mackie, and Jackie; Tory, Ternell, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family. Cornell was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pearl; and his cousins, Kevin and Terry.

We invite all who knew and loved Cornell to remember him on Saturday, 13 Sep 2025, at 10:00am CDT at Carnes Funeral Home - CSH, 1102 Indiana Street, South Houston, Texas, 77587.

We encourage friends and family to share memories and upload photos of Cornell to his memorial page, so we may all remember the charismatic, funny, spirited, and witty man he was. His legacy is not only in his deeds but also in the laughter, joy, and faith he inspired in those around him.
